Then a funeral for a cousin in Rexburg.

Tyson received his “Arrow of Light”.
Quite an impressive ceremony.

Then the week before Christmas we had a party for the neighborhood at our house.

A party for the dinner club. At least those that have not gone south yet.

And our family Christmas party.

Then on christmas we went to Joy’s for dinner.

We have shoveled so much snow this year we are REALLY ready for a vacation to Arizona!!

Enjoyed the Egyptian culture.

Visited a bunch of temples on the Nile.

Took a hot air ballon ride.

Floated in the Dead Sea.

Enjoyed lectures by S. Michael Wilcox. Here we are at the Sea of Galilee.

Waded in the Mediterranean.

Saw the Dome of the Rock.

Visited the Wailing Wall.
Sandra added a note to the wall.

Visited the Savior's tomb.

Lots of Roman ruins and temples in Turkey.

Granddaughters Tawnya and Janeal at the “Festival of Trees”.

Thanksgiving week.
Jackie came the weekend before Thanksgiving so we had a family party on Tuesday.
We also made gingerbread houses while she was here.

Then we found out Tyler was here from Washington and going back on Thanksgiving. So we had a party with him and the family on Wednesday.
Then we had another party on Thanksgiving for the whole family again. Sandra worked herself to death.

Now we are wishing we could crash until Christmas. But there are Ward and neighborhood parties the whole month.

Rich had a tooth pulled.

Month of September 2016

Sept. 3rd we attended Kari's Wedding up at the Treasure Mountain Scout Camp. She was the wife of Corbin Snedaker, a nephew. He passed away last year.
Very interest venue for a wedding. We helped serve the dinner.

Sept. 7th was our annual Blue Ridge Picnic. A picnic for the neighborhood where we live. Turned out very good. A little cool as the evening set in. But great to meet with friends and neighbors. We were to provide the home made root beer. Turned out to be a real challenge. (A story for another time.)

Sept. 10th we attended the local Symphony in the Park with our friends the Wards.

Sept. 12th - 13th was our WDC Mission Reunion. The first event was held at the Alpine Art Center in Alpine, Utah. We were able to tour the facility and see how they produce bronze art for many well recognized artists.

It was great to see many of the missionaries we served with in the WDC Temple.

Then the next day we attended the Provo City Temple.

Then a chapel meeting. It was a great 2 days.

We spent most of the week with the our friends the Moyles from our WDC mission.

We went to a couple of really good movies. Scully and Florence Foster Jenkins.

Went to the temple in Payson on the 14th.

Went to Manti for a day.

There we were able to attend a session with our friends the Cooks from our WDC mission.

On the way back to SLC we visited the Slades in Mount Pleasant

Then we stayed at Hal & Debbie’s even though they were not there. They had family reunion on Lake Powell.

Sept. 17th we attended a wedding reception for Sandra’s cousin’s son. After which we headed for home.

Sept. 20th went over to the Jensen’s in Kimberly to get corn. They took us all over the area and in addition to getting corn we got potatoes, tomatoes, peaches, pears and all kinds of stuff. Could hardly get it all in our car.

Sept. 27th we attended the Star Valley Temple open house with our daughter Janna. She was able to see one of the missionaries that had worked with her here in Idaho Falls.

Sorry about the lack of photos. I think Rich is loosing his touch on photo taking. Maybe just too lazy.

Month of August 2016

Crazy month. I guess we are getting old. Several of our close friends have spent time in the hospital this month. But, knock on wood, our health is still good.

Sandra’s cousin Ken Clifford brought his parent’s ashes over from Boise to have buried in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery here in Idaho Falls.

We had a great day with them. Party at our home.

Sandra had her 71st birth day and it was not as traumatic as her 70th.

We went to the Playmill Theatre in West Yellowstone. We saw the show Dancing in the Rain. It was great!!

Attended our annual neighborhood picnic.

This is a candy cannon. It shoots about 5 pounds of candy per shot.

The kids loved it.

Wedding reception of McKay Harper a missionary from our Africa mission.

And there we met some friends we haven’t seen for about 30 years. Gary & Linda Larsen.

Had an interesting evening with our “Empty Nesters” group. We had a fireside on the geology of Yellowstone Park. Very informative and entertaining.

Summer is over for us. The nights are really cold now and we usually have a frost the first part of September. So our garden and flowers will soon be gone.
