Second Half of May 2014

We get to see a lot of cultural events here at the Visitor’s Center. One we attended was a group of students from BYU from different nationalities who did songs and dancing from many different countries.  It was a great show. And the costumes were phenomenal!

On May 19th – We went on the Metro to Union Station.

We took a bus tour on the BIG BUS –of Washington DC.

We rode all around on an open top bus and saw lots of the sites of Washington D.C.

We could get off at any site we wanted to visit and get back on the next bus and go to the next site. It was a great way to see the famous places in Washington D.C.

May 26th (Memorial Day) the Temple was open here. So we worked in the Temple until about 2:30. Then we went to the home of a couple that work in the Temple. They call it “Pemberly on Pond”. I think that was a place they visited in England. They have a beautiful yard & house overlooking a large pond. More like a small lake.

We played some games

Had a great meal (Virginia fried chicken)

And enjoyed visiting with all the temple workers that attended.

Their name is Jenkins and Sister Jenkins is a sister to Lynn Kirby from Idaho Falls.

Again, a lot of great experiences in the Temple. It seems like every day we learn something new.

First Half of May 2014

Time is flying by way too fast here.
We have not had time to stop and think about what to put here on our blog.
This mission is demanding more and more of us.
But that’s what we love.

Not much happened outside the Temple on these two and a half weeks. Lot’s of spiritual experiences that someday we hope to share with all of you. But they are just too sacred to put here in a public place.

Sandra received flowers and chocolate strawberries in the mail.

Amazing what can be sent in the mail now-a-days.

We did have a Mother’s Day Dinner that we were in charge of. We had a nice ham meal.

Watched a couple of Mother’s Day videos:

And we did a little dance instruction:

We all had a great time.

The rest of the half month was pretty much “Temple as Usual”. Which is actually really good. We have learned a lot there and it is such a joy to be there every day and feel the spirit and work with all the great people there.
