We get to see a lot of cultural events here at the Visitor’s Center. One we attended was a group of students from BYU from different nationalities who did songs and dancing from many different countries. It was a great show. And the costumes were phenomenal!
On May 19th – We went on the Metro to Union Station.
We took a bus tour on the BIG BUS –of Washington DC.
We rode all around on an open top bus and saw lots of the sites of Washington D.C.
We could get off at any site we wanted to visit and get back on the next bus and go to the next site. It was a great way to see the famous places in Washington D.C.
May 26th (Memorial Day) the Temple was open here. So we worked in the Temple until about 2:30. Then we went to the home of a couple that work in the Temple. They call it “Pemberly on Pond”. I think that was a place they visited in England. They have a beautiful yard & house overlooking a large pond. More like a small lake.
We played some games
Had a great meal (Virginia fried chicken)
And enjoyed visiting with all the temple workers that attended.
Their name is Jenkins and Sister Jenkins is a sister to Lynn Kirby from Idaho Falls.
Again, a lot of great experiences in the Temple. It seems like every day we learn something new.
