Month of July 2015

I forgot about the Hail & Farewell on June 29th. We Hailed and Farewelled several couples and a couple of Sisters.
Slades:

Lunnens:

One highlight was the reciting of “The Cremation of Sam McGee”. Elders Lunnen and Slade have done this a couple of time and this time they were joined by Elder Hill.

On July 2nd we went to Toby's Dinner Theatre. We have been told about this place since we first arrived.

The play depicted the debate on the Declaration of Independence. No photos allowed.

Then on the 4th we had breakfast to celebrate.
The weather turned bad and we had to move it all inside. We did have a flag ceremony though.

 And sang some songs.

Then ate too much as usual at these activities.

That evening we went to the famous “Cheese Factory” restaurant.

July 13th Monday – We went to Manassas Battlefield

and then to the Gardner’s for a BBQ/picnic

Also that day we had another Hail & Farewell. We gave our farewell at this one. If you are interested in seeing what we did it is available at this website:
July 20th We went to the National Building Museum.

July 22nd we went down to the WDC Mall to see the Air Force Band. Wasn’t quite what we expected but we enjoyed it.

Saturday July 25th after our shift at the temple we left for Philadelphia. That evening we stopped at Longwood Gardens. We saw all kinds of plants and flowers,

but the highlight was the nightscape show. They had all kinds of laser lights dancing and showing spectacular views.

One was on the back of a pond projected on trees. It showed the seasons of the year, fish jumping and dragon flies flying around. It was really something. Sorry we could not get any good video of that one.

Then we visited all the historical spots that we had time for.

Eastern State Penitentiary opened in 1829.
Visited the Temple there.

Back home we started cleaning and packing to go home to Idaho.
